Dell Inspiron Mini 1012 Netbook (ep.6)

Good things … small packages …

I bought this netbook after months of shopping, I have a 17 “laptop from Dell, but it was just to much to contribute everywhere, and now that summer is here I take my bike to work, to the 17 “even more difficult.
I decided on 7990BK black to match my Studio 1737, I’ve owned Dell computers for years and never had a problem so I felt this netbook would be a safe bet.
Opening the box to this computer is really impressive, its very small, and actually very well designed. I removed the computer from the package and obtained the right to work, removing the Dell installed programs and add-ons. I must say this thing is fast enough processor 1.66GHz.
I installed a new copy of Office 2007, and connected my external hard drive to copy my work files completed. Overall I am very impressed with this machine, and it took a lot to do choke, but he never stopped, I put in difficult tests last night and did not disappointed. With iTunes, Excel created several programs, two Word documents, an office full of gadgets, websites, and playing a movie in Media Player I was still able to play a few games of solitaire. This showed me that I bought a computer capable enough!
I do not think ill be upgrading to Windows 7 Pro, but as starter seems a bit lacking features. I also think another 1GB of RAM, the computer giant will be a little … especially with what I need it for.
I should mention the store size keyboard is almost full is reason enough to get this netbook! My hands are quite large and most of the mini is that I tried was an embarrassment to say the least. Dell, however, he got right with the keyboard on the Inspiron Mini, its literally like typing on your desktop keyboard … and is a good thing when you use your computer every day!
Also the battery life is quite impressive. To put in perspective, I fully charged it after it delivered … to 18 hours unplugged it, took it home and ran all night, at 1:30 it was still, and when I took it to work was 10% … it was at seven o’clock. I left the screen at maximum brightness and adjusted for maximum performance, closing the screen after 20 minutes … I must say that the battery life is perfect!
To conclude this place, I’d say Dell hit it out of the park with the line there is a mini-series Inspiron, Ill continue to make this netbook to work, but with the addition of RAM, I think would get along . If you’re in the market for a mini … look no further.
